Mindendof's Catfish Cruise
Saturday, August 11, 2007
The best way I know to spend a very hot summer day is to take a drive with a great bunch of people that drive CORVETTES!
Gloria & Joe Miceli, Mary & Freddie Jones, Bev & Bill Franks, Caryll & Allen Cothern, Jerry & Jerry Jr. Ainsworth, B. J. Johnson & Don Johnson, Wanda & Dick Baldwin, Linda & Doug Henslee and Jakki & Joe Mozola left Saturday morning to drive to Middendorf's for lunch and then back to Ponchatoula to the Bavarian Cafe for dessert. Becky & Jack Bradshaw met us in McComb for the rest of the journey. Ten Corvette's driving together is just the prettiest sight you could want to see.
Thanks to Wanda & Dick Baldwin we were able to find and enjoy the great pastries that are made and served at the Bavarian Cafe in Ponchatoula. We all decided that in the fall when it gets cool enough to enjoy eating lunch outside we are going to organize a group of Corvetters and go back to the Bavarian Cafe. Not only is it a very picturesque little place the food that was being served looked and smelled wonderful. We know the pastries are wonderful because we had them.
I cannot wait until the next drive. SHERRY WE MISSED YOU!
Enjoy! Jakki Mozola

The Myrtles Plantation, St. Francisville, LA
Saturday June 16th.
Wow! What a great crowd. 16 corvettes on an out of state trip!
Joe and Gloria Miceli did a great job leading the pack to St. Francisville, LA to the Myrtles Plantation.
We were not disappointed at all, as the Myths about the Plantation being haunted were captured in a Photo that Tonya Renfrow took from outside the Childrens Dining area. There is an image of a a man with a long coat and a large hat. There wasn’t anyone there at the event that came close to this profile…
The Menu at the Myrtles was interesting, as most items included grits.
Thanks everyone for attending!

Corvettes and Carats
Saturday, March 3, 2007 |
Let me say this before I say anything else, if you were not at the Corvettes & Carats Saturday you missed the best fun that I have had in some time.
Sherry Hollis hosted the event and Robin Perry was the hostess for the Premier Designs Jewelry Party. Those that were there to enjoy all the fun were Sherry Hollis, Robin Perry, Judy Parker, Janie Wilson, Betty Jo Johnson, Mary Jones, Jean Jones, Wanda Riley with her daughter-in-law Angel, Linda Muha, Leslie Mayeaux and myself Jakki Mozola. We started the party off with Mimosas and some of the best food to be found anywhere. If I ever win the lottery, I am going to try and hire Wanda Riley as my personal chef. Wanda made and brought the best pasta salad I have ever tasted. I think I hurt myself eating so much.
After we ate, we started the jewelry part of the party. Guess who won the most tickets and got a door prize? You got it, it was me. That is only because I have the loudest mouth. (whatever works, right)? Premier Designs, Inc. has some very beautiful jewelry and trying to decided what to buy was not a problem for anyone. The only problem was how much we could buy without going bankrupt. I think Sherry beat us all with her purchases. She really bought some great things, as we all did. We were able to acquire $300.00 worth of wonderful door prizes for the poker run later this month.
Next, we looked around and lo and behold more food had been added to the buffet. Well, I could not be rude and not eat (alone with some others). We filled our plates and again enjoyed the wonderful food that was offered. After five pounds and much belt loosening those of us that did not have other commitments drove to the Bob Tompkins Art Gallery in Gluckstat where our own BETTY JO JOHNSON has some of her paintings on display. You all must go and see her work. Betty Jo is so very talented and I cannot put into words how good her paintings are. I found two that I am trying very hard to convince Joe we cannot live without.
While at the Gallery, we saw a painting of the Mayflower Cafe in downtown Jackson on Capitol Street. Someone suggested we all go there for dinner that evening. With one phone call reservations had been made. After picking up the guys, we met again and had one of the best meals I have had in a restaurant in a very long time. I think we sometimes forget that the places we loved years ago are still here and still offer wonderful choices for us to enjoy.
After dinner, we said goodnight and I for one was so thankful to have spent the day with such a wonderful group of friends. Thank you guys for making life so much better just because you are in it.

The Vicksburg Cruise 2007
Saturday, January 20, 2007
Thanks to all that came out for the event.
Jerry Ainsworth, Joe & Gloria Miceli, Bill & Bev Franks, Allen & Caryll Cothern, Ron & Mary Gaddy,
Linda Muha, Doug Henslee, Dan Perry & Robins Father, Al & Cindy Kabelac, and Tim & Sherry Hollis.
The meal at Borrello's was excellent, and the Tiramisu dessert was
wonderful!
Our group left Vicksburg and drove over to Louisiana to purchase lottery
tickets. There were folks in the parking area of the store directing
traffic! We didn't realize there would be such a long line to purchase
tickets, but we waited it out. The long lines increased our enthusiasm.
The jackpot was 205M!! I don't believe there was a winning ticket for
Saturday's drawing. Some of us even participated in a group of tickets
purchased for the club... I'm sorry to say that there were no winning
numbers there....BUT... if any of you purchased an individual ticket and won
something, we'd love to help you celebrate!

The Little Red Scooter that Could...
Joe and Jakki Mozola donated the Little Red Scooter to the Mississippi Corvette Club,
for us to sell raffel tickets and give away at the Christmas Party.
Yes, there was talk of Jakki Mozola riding the Scooter at the party, but it was just too cold that night.
We were able to raise $147.00 in donations and Tonya Renfrow, one of the guests at the party, took home the prize.
To make a long story short, we charged the Scooter up Sunday morning and we visited with Jakki Mozola
Sunday afternoon, where we could all take a spin on it .... REALLY.
The photoshow is the proof! Good job yall!
